What to say about Roger? He was a gentle giant who was one of my heroes, like me he loved wild places and huntin, shootin, and fishin! On one visit to see them, we had a great day out with a falconary experience and like Roger I am a great fan of birds of prey, so it was a very enjoyable few hours with at one stage Roger ending up with a Harris Hawk perched on his head, luckily he had his flat hat on so no damage ensued and he was laughing throughout.
I was very privileged that Roger always introduced me as his brother in law, and I always classed Jackie as my sister.
Our biggest regret is that we couldn't visit Roger when he was ill because of this damn covid, and we would also have liked to pay our respects at his funeral, we both loved him dearly and in all the time we knew him never had a cross word, he will be missed, but rest assured Roger will always be in our thoughts and as soon as all this is over we will be visiting Jackie at the earliest opportunity.

I was remembering how Roger loved his dogs, and how well trained they were. Many years ago I spent a weekend with Jackie and Roger with my dog, Jess. Roger was showing me how to train her and by the end of the weekend she was a different dog. He had a real affinity with dogs and it was so clear just how much he loved them. I shall always remember that ....
